Internal Quality Assurance of Education
Internal Quality Assurance of Education

At Teikyo University, we established the Teikyo University Education Reform Committee with the aim of establishing a PDCA cycle for teaching and learning management to realize "educational quality assurance" from the student's point of view. I'm here.

basic way of thinking

Led by the Teikyo University Educational Reform Committee, in order to continuously guarantee the quality of our educational activities and the level of student learning achievements, we have established a curriculum based on learning goals that embody three policies. We conduct inspections and evaluations based on common ideas and standards, and work to improve education based on the results. In addition, we accurately grasp and measure information on student learning achievements and educational achievements of the university as a whole, and use it appropriately for reviewing educational activities. In addition, in order to promote educational management to realize "quality assurance of education", we have established requirements and guidelines.

Toward the Promotion of Teikyo University Academic Management

Internal Quality Assurance System for Education

The Teikyo University Education Reform Committee is a university-wide collaborative committee of faculty and staff under the leadership of President Yoshihito Okinaga. The committee deliberates on the basic policy of educational reform at the university, improvements to educational content and methods, and the planning, implementation, and support of measures related to quality assurance of education. It also indicates the direction of improvement from a university-wide perspective so that each faculty and department can develop efforts to improve the quality of educational activities.
With this committee at the center, administrative organizations centered around each faculty and department and the Academic Affairs Division work together with the Academic IR Support Team, which collects and analyzes data, to implement the PDCA cycle for academic management.

Implementation of inspections and evaluations

The educational activities of each faculty and department will be inspected and evaluated in five areas: 1. Setting and reviewing learning objectives based on the three policies; 2. Ensuring the systematicity and effectiveness of the curriculum and organizing and managing it effectively and efficiently; 3. Creating and improving the syllabus; 4. Student selection; and 5. Evaluation of learning outcomes and educational outcomes. Reforms and improvements will be made based on the results of the inspection and evaluation.
The contents of the inspections are reviewed regularly, taking into consideration the progress of improvements made up to the previous fiscal year and societal needs.

Implementation method of inspection and evaluation

  • Inspections are conducted by each department every year, but evaluations are conducted once every several years.
  • For both inspection and evaluation, submit an "inspection/evaluation report" to President's Office of Educational Management, and then have a dialogue with the department and President's Office of Educational Management based on the contents of the report.
  • Through dialogue, confirm the issues and considerations regarding the curriculum that the department recognizes, and the direction of future improvement.
