Cutting-Edge Research on Display at Innovation Japan 2023

In a notable showcase of pioneering research, Specially Appointed Professor Toshimitsu Yokobori from the Teikyo University Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization recently participated in the University Trade Fair 2023 ~ Innovation Japan. The event, held at the iconic Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward, Tokyo, spanned two days from August 24th to 25th, 2023. Supported by the Industry-Academia Collaboration Promotion Center, Professor Yokobori's exhibit centered around the groundbreaking theme of "Short-term, high-precision quantitative evaluation method for high-temperature creep life and mechanical performance."

The exhibition, organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), stands as Japan's premier industry-academia matching event, fostering collaboration between universities and businesses while showcasing cutting-edge research. This year's edition marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time in four years that the event returned to its original venue, attracting a remarkable 10,432 attendees over the two-day period. The presented evaluation method revolutionizes the prediction of high-temperature heat-resistant steel's lifespan and offers a precise assessment of mechanical performance in relation to creep life. What sets this innovation apart is its ability to achieve these results with minimal experiments conducted in a remarkably short timeframe. The collaborative efforts of Project Professor Yokobori and Senior Assistant Professor Go Ozeki culminated in the filing of a patent application, underscoring the pioneering nature of their work.
Engaging with nearly 80 visitors at Teikyo University's booth, the team fielded a range of inquiries, many of which delved into potential applications for other materials. The short presentations also drew significant interest, solidifying the potential impact of this research across various domains. The hope is that this exhibition will pave the way for the integration of this innovative methodology into wider society, marking a stride forward in advancing high-temperature material science.
Teikyo University remains committed to not only pushing the boundaries of knowledge but also to contributing actively to society by sharing the intellectual property generated through its research endeavors.
