Teikyo University has established research institutes and centers with three purposes. First, facilities with a history of fundamental research purposes, such as the Teikyo University Institute of Medical Mycology. Then, there are facilities with fundamental educational objectives to improve specialization, such as the Teikyo University General Medical Education and Research Center. Furthermore, facilities such as Teikyo University Mental Health Center and Teikyo University Institute of Sports Science & Medicine, support the realization of high-quality clinical practice and the acquisition of qualifications by utilizing academic knowledge. Particularly in clinical practice, it is rare among universities in Japan to have a specific field in place, for example, in the field of sports science, where students learn to take care of their bodies in an environment similar to that of top athletes.
The basic philosophy of all research activities is the same: to acquire expertise that is useful to society. The most important thing is to nurture individuals who can think about "how to apply what they have learned in society" and put it into practice.

Research Activities
At our university, many researchers are engaged day and night in various genres of research. By constantly acquiring knowledge, theories, technology and making creative and organic use of them, deeper and more advanced research is being conducted, even in a highly competitive global society.
Each faculty and department of Teikyo University is engaged in various educational activities with the aim of developing individuals who can think, make decisions, and act on their own.
Our university has many research institutes and centers specializing in every field, and each of them is energetically working every day for research development and the training of human resources. There are various disciplines such as medicine, psychology, biology, sports, education, and culture.
We will contribute to society with intellectual property developed through the university's research. We will introduce registered patents and published patents. We will also post patents obtained in the future as needed.
Teikyo University Medical Research Ethics Committee
The University has established an Ethics Committee to discuss ethical matters to ensure that medical research is conducted more smoothly and appropriately. This committee deliberates on research by the Declaration of Helsinki by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the World Medical Association.
Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization (ACRO)
The Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization (ACRO) aims to increase the value of the research seeds and needs of the university, and to contribute to the development of society based on that knowledge and enhance the research capabilities of Teikyo.
