With the philosophy of effectively, peacefully and economically utilizing materials, energy, information, and life for the welfare of humanity and society, we provide and conduct innovative, high-level education and research in science and engineering that transcend the boundaries of each specialized field as we develop human resources with broad perspectives and the ability to respond to internationalization.
The Graduate School of Science and Engineering conducts advanced research in a wide range of scientific and technological fields in the natural sciences. Students can aim to obtain the following qualifications as they explore specialized knowledge and integrate it into comprehensive research and education that transcend the boundaries of each field.
At the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, the curriculum is organized in a way that students can apply their learning in a variety of ways regardless of the field. As the many employment opportunities available demonstrate, our curriculum paves a path for students to be active in the research departments of companies and in other practical professions.
The Graduate School of Science and Engineering offers two majors: Integrated Science and Engineering, and the Informatics Science Correspondence Course. The Division of Integrated Science and Engineering aims to cultivate human resources who will contribute to creative developments in integrated science and technology by deepening their specialized skills in fields related to mechanical and systems engineering, aerospace engineering, information electronics, and bioscience, while acquiring the ability to integrate these fields. Division of Informatics Science Correspondence Course trains students to master information science, which is the basis for future technological transformation, and to develop human resources who will contribute to the advancement of information technology. In keeping with the school philosophy, which emphasizes the key concepts of practical learning, international perspectives, and open-mindedness, we strive to further revitalize the graduate school in cooperation with local, national, and international research institutions and companies. We look forward to the active participation of our students.
