  • The number of applicants for each term is the total number of applicants for Phase I and Phase II.
  • The transfer period will be April 2025.
  • Those who transfer to the second year may only study for three years and may not stay for more than six years.
  • Those who transfer to the third year may only study for two years and may not stay for more than four years.
  • *In each course of the Department of Language Studies, Faculty of Language Studies, non-Japanese nationals are not allowed to select courses in their native language or mother tongue.

Transfer Admission (2nd year)

A person who falls under any of the following (1) to (8)

(1) Applicants must be graduates of a junior college (including a foreign junior college and a school in Japan designated as equivalent to a foreign junior college) or be expected to graduate in March 2025.
(2) Those who have graduated from a technical college or are expected to graduate in March 2025.
(3) Those who have completed a specialized course at a vocational school that has a duration of two years or more and requires a total of 1,700 hours or more of class time or 62 credits or more to complete, or those who are expected to complete such course by March 2025.
(4) Those who have completed or are expected to complete a specialized high school course in March 2025 (a course of study that is two years or more and meets the standards set by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).

(Those who have transferred to another school)
(5) Applicants must have been enrolled in a university for at least one year and have earned 31 or more credits, or be expected to earn such credits by March 2025.
(6) An individual who has completed 14 years or more of regular school education in a foreign country or is expected to complete such education by March 2025, or an individual with an equivalent qualification.
(7) Applicants must have been enrolled in a regular university abroad for at least one year and have earned the equivalent of 31 credits or more by March 2025.

(Those equivalent to bachelor's degree admission)
(8) Those who have graduated from university or are expected to graduate in March 2025.

Transfer Admission (3rd year)

Those who fall under any of the following (1) to (8).

(1) Applicants must be graduates of a junior college (including a foreign junior college and a school in Japan designated as equivalent to a foreign junior college) or be expected to graduate in March 2025.
(2) Those who have graduated from a technical college or are expected to graduate in March 2025.
(3) Those who have completed a specialized course at a vocational school that has a duration of two years or more and requires a total of 1,700 hours or more of class time or 62 credits or more to complete, or those who are expected to complete such course by March 2025.

Transfer Admission for Working Adults

Applicants must be graduates of a university, junior college, technical college, vocational school designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (including dropouts) at the time of university transfer and have been in the specialized course of a high school for more than three years since completion. Applicants must be working adults (including unemployed persons) who are 23 years of age or older (25 years of age or older for university graduates) as of April 1, 2025, and meet any of the following conditions (1) to (7).

(1) Those who have graduated from a junior college (including foreign junior colleges and schools designated as foreign junior colleges in Japan) or colleges of technology.
(2) Those who have completed a specialized training college with a minimum term of 2 years and a total of 1,700 hours or more of class hours or 62 credits or more.
(3) Those who have completed an advanced course at a high school (with a duration of two years or more and meeting the standards set by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).

〈Students equivalent to transferring schools〉
(4) Those who have been enrolled in a university for at least one year and have earned at least 31 credits. (2nd year transfer)
(5) Those who have been enrolled in a university for 2 years or more and have earned 62 or more credits. (3rd year transfer)
(6) Those who have completed 14 years or more of regular school education in a foreign country.

〈Those who are equivalent to entering a bachelor’s degree〉
(7) A person who has graduated from a university.

Selection Process

  1. Departamental proficiency test (1 subject)
  2. Document screening.
  3. interview
    Transfer admission selection: about 10 minutes per person
    Adult transfer admission selection: about 10 minutes per person

The applicant will be judged comprehensively on a pass/fail basis, with emphasis on the written examination.
Applicants who miss the written exam will not be allowed to take the interview.
If an applicant misses the interview, all test results will be invalid.
