Teikyo University's mission and purpose is to cultivate talented people who fulfil School Philosophy through education based on the educational Educational Philosophy of "doing things “One’s way”" and Educational Guidelines of "Practical learning, International perspectives, and Open mindedness."
A degree will be awarded to those who have completed the educational curriculum set by our university and have acquired the abilities listed below.

  1. Ability to learn autonomously and independently (lifelong learning ability)
  2. Ability to collect and analyze a wide range of information, make appropriate decisions, and utilize it effectively (information gathering ability)
  3. Possess a wide range of interests and knowledge in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences (broad-based education)
  4. Ability to communicate and present verbally and in writing (expressive ability)
  5. Ability to make judgments based on knowledge of multiple cultures and different cultures (intercultural understanding)
  6. Ability to discover problems and solve them by collecting, analyzing, and organizing the information necessary for their resolution (problem-discovery ability)

In order to enable students to acquire the abilities set out in its degree awarding policy, Teikyo University will organize the curricula of its faculties and departments in accordance with the following policies, based on Educational Guidelines of "Practical learning, International perspectives, and Open mindedness."
In addition, based on Teikyo University's assessment policy, we will evaluate learning outcomes and work to improve the university-wide curriculum and teaching methods.

  1. In order to help students acquire broad knowledge and culture, as well as the ability to think from a multifaceted perspective in both the humanities and sciences, "Liberal Arts Education Courses" are divided into four fields (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and a combination of humanities and sciences), and courses are arranged for each field.
  2. The "first-year education subjects" aim to ensure a smooth transition from high school to university and to enable a diverse range of students to engage in independent learning. These subjects will help motivate students to study at university, develop study habits, and encourage them to acquire generic skills that will serve as the foundation for learning.
  3. The "Career-related courses" include courses designed to develop the ability to continue learning throughout one's life and employability (the ability to be employed by a company and the ability to envision and execute one's own career path).
  4. In the "Information Education Courses," students will be provided with courses to acquire information knowledge and skills necessary for a digital society, as well as courses related to mathematics, data science, and AI, in order to equip them with the ability to collect and analyze diverse information and solve social issues.
  5. In the "Foreign Language Education Courses," students will have the opportunity to study languages and intercultural understanding in order to acquire the skills outlined in Teikyo Global Competency.
  6. In the "specialized subjects" section, subjects are systematically arranged to encourage independent learning in specialized fields within each faculty, department, etc., and to enable students to acquire knowledge and skills.

In accordance with School Philosophy, Teikyo University, in order to cultivate talented individuals who have acquired the abilities set forth in its degree awarding policy, accepts a wide range of students from Japan and abroad who wish to study at the university after understanding its Educational Philosophy and Educational Guidelines and who possess the following qualities:

In accordance with School Philosophy, our university aims to cultivate talented people who can acquire the culture, knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary in the real world and then utilize them to build their own value in society and contribute to the public good.
To achieve this, students are required to have a broad perspective and knowledge, as well as a positive attitude and motivation to learn. Therefore, it is extremely important that students study basic subjects broadly and with enthusiasm in high school. Through the above-mentioned studies in high school, we are looking for students to have the following abilities and qualities:

  1. Students with basic academic abilities and with the motivation to seriously gain knowledge and skills are able to make use of these abilities after enrollment.
  2. Students who can set goals for higher education, employment, study abroad, etc. and work independently to achieve them
