Teikyo's Ekiden Club Secures 9th Place Finish and Seeding Rights at 100th Tokyo-Hakone Relay
In a gripping performance at the 100th Tokyo-Hakone round-trip university relay race on January 3, 2024, Teikyo University's Ekiden (Road Relay) Club clinched an impressive 9th place overall, earning the coveted seeding rights for future tournaments. The journey, though challenging, witnessed a remarkable turnaround as the team, at one point more than two minutes outside the seeding range, rallied back during the return trip.
On the return trip, at one point we were more than 2 minutes out of the seeding range, but Ryuichiro Ono (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) took 2nd place in the section, and Daisei Kobayashi (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) took 2nd place in the section. Starting with 3rd place, we were able to finish the return trip in 9th place overall thanks to a tenacious run typical of Teikyo University, and were able to earn seeding rights.
