In the bustling arena of collegiate presentations, Teikyo University's Terakawa Seminar, Faculty of Economics, emerged as a beacon of insight and eloquence at the 19th Veritas Cup Presentation Contest. Held at Nihon University on December 16, 2023, the event witnessed five diligent students from Teikyo University delivering a compelling presentation titled "How to create an organization that can trust each other," clinching the prestigious 2nd place in the group award category. Adding to the glory, Rin Ito, a third-year student from the Faculty of Economics, received the coveted Best Reply Award, a testament to individual brilliance.
The Veritas Cup, renowned as an inter-college presentation battleground in the Kanto region, drew participation from esteemed institutions such as Kansai University, Gunma Women's University, and Nihon University, among others. This year, with the evocative theme of "Touch," the competition stirred reflections and revelations from diverse perspectives. Eight teams, including Teikyo University, meticulously crafted research reports delving into the intricacies of contemporary issues, vying to showcase their prowess in presentation skills.
Central to the Terakawa seminar's report was a probing exploration into the underlying causes of stress pervading modern Japanese workplaces. Shedding light on the paradigm shift in the Japanese employment landscape post the bubble economy burst, the presentation articulated how coercion has become a dominant force, eclipsing the erstwhile foundation of trust. In an era clamoring for innovation and creativity, the imperative to reconstruct the fabric of trust within Japanese employment was underscored with clarity.
The accolade bestowed upon Teikyo University's presentation resonates with the meticulous efforts invested in crafting a narrative that seamlessly blended copious information with a captivating storytelling format. Leveraging the power of slide presentations and articulate delivery, the students deftly navigated complex concepts, ensuring accessibility and engagement. As the applause subsides and the spotlight dims, Teikyo University's triumph at the Veritas Cup stands as a testament to the institution's commitment to scholarly excellence and societal relevance. With anticipation, we await the unfolding of their future endeavors, fueled by the spirit of inquiry and the pursuit of meaningful change.
