Hachioji CampusBarbell Club students placed 4th at the 81st Tokyo Powerlifting Championships

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the 81st Tokyo Powerlifting Championships held at the Sumida Ward General Gymnasium Sub-Arena (Sumida Ward, Tokyo), Yuji Shiozawa (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) of Teikyo University Barbell Club placed 4th in the men's 83 kg class. This was an open competition, with many working adults who are active in national-level competitions participating, but Shiozawa recorded a total of 650.0 kg, including a squat of 237.5 kg, bench press of 155.0 kg, and deadlift of 257.5 kg, placing 4th. Shiozawa said, "The level in Tokyo is very high nationwide, and I was worried about how far I could keep up, but I was able to achieve 4th place. In the future, there will be the Kanto Student Championships and the All-Japan Student Championships, but this year I am aiming to break the Japanese student record, so I would like to use what I learned this time to train hard."
