Hachioji Campusexhibited at SPORTEC 2024

Teikyo University exhibited a booth at SPORTEC 2024, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

At the booth, Professor Sato Shinji, head of the Health Sports Health Course in the Department of Department of Sport and Medical Science Faculty of Medical Technology at our university, displayed a poster on his research entitled "Well-being coordinators and AI apps to ensure the well-being of elderly people living alone." Yasuaki Okawa, Senior Assistant Professor in the Athletic Trainer (AT) department at our university's Sports Medicine Center, gave a demonstration of pitching motion analysis using a high-speed camera and also offered advice to visitors after their experience.
At the venue, students and graduates from our university's Department of Sport and Medical Science and Department of Education and Culture, as well as students from other universities, and people from a wide range of fields such as the medical and baseball industries were constantly stopping by the booth and actively exchanging information with Professor Sato and Senior Assistant Professor Okawa.

SPORTEC has been held since 2009 and is Japan's largest comprehensive exhibition on the sports and health industry, where sports-related companies and organizations from all over the world present their latest products, technologies, and services. This year, it was held for three days from July 16th (Tue) to 18th (Thu), and a wide variety of booths, from displays and sales of fitness machines, training equipment, protein supplements and drinks, and fitness wear to a corner focused on research presentations and About Teikyo University like ours, became a place for visitors to actively exchange information. Teikyo University aims to continue to promote sports, enhance academic research and education, and promote external collaboration and social contributions, thereby increasing the value of university sports and contributing to the development of society through sports.
