Hachioji CampusBarbell Club students win the 58th All Japan Student Bodybuilding Championship

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the Teikyo University Barbell Club participated in the 58th All Japan Student Bodybuilding Championships held at Fussa Civic Hall (Fussa City, Tokyo). Akiyoshi Yamada (3rd year, Faculty of Liberal Arts) won the Men's Physique 176 cm and under class, and Kotaro Sashida (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) won 7th place in the over 176 cm class. The Physique competition was divided into three weight classes based on height, and Yamada also won the overall judging by the winners of each weight class, making him the first Teikyo University student to win the overall championship. Kanade Iguchi (3rd year, Faculty of Liberal Arts) participated in the Women's Beginners Fitness division and won 5th place.

Many students in the Barbell Club started training after entering university, but each member sets goals according to their level, and everyone, from beginners to students aiming to win competitions, cooperates with each other and trains sincerely.
