On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, a high school-university collaboration program was held at the Teikyo University Utsunomiya Campus by the seminar of Associate Professor Song Yu of the Department of Regional Faculty of Economics, Faculty Department of Regional Economics, and Tochigi Prefectural Oyama High School. This program has been held since 2021 at the request of Oyama High School, and this year marks the fourth time.
On the day, two representative students from the seminar and two students each gave a presentation on the common theme of public services. Afterwards, the students took on a student-created "Public Service Financial Quiz" and carried out group work to deepen their understanding. Finally, they further deepened their learning about public services through a board game. Participating students commented, "It was interesting to work with high school students and get a unique perspective," and "I think I was able to give a good presentation, but I would like to review it to improve," while a student commented, "It made me think deeply about abstract public services."
For our students, this was a high school-college collaboration program that provided both input and output. Our school will continue to promote educational collaboration with local schools and strive to contribute to the community and develop educational activities.
