Overview

The Teikyo University Graduate School Graduate School of Teacher Education holds the `` Graduate School of Teacher Education Forum'' every year to widely publicize its daily educational practices and research results.
This time, the 15th time, the theme will be "Understanding and Supporting Refusal." The number of truant students in elementary and junior high schools nationwide in 2022 will be 299,048, an increase of 54,108 (22.1%) from the previous year, a record high and the 10th consecutive year of increase. I am. Under these circumstances, the "Educational Opportunity Security Act" was enacted in 2017, placing emphasis on ensuring diverse and appropriate educational opportunities for children who do not attend school. In this forum, we invited people from various positions involved in school refusal support, and participants at the venue, Graduate School of Teacher Education students, and teachers spoke about the current situation and understanding of school refusal from the perspective of support sites, as well as specific forms of support and issues. Together, we will deepen our understanding of school refusal and explore desirable forms of support.
