In order to promote comprehensive collaboration in education and research among the three institutions, Teikyo University, the University of Tokyo, and the RIKEN, the three institutions, Teikyo University's Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization for Neurointelligence (ACRO), the University of Tokyo's International Research Center for Neurointelligence (WPI-IRCN), and the RIKEN Center for Brain Science (RIKEN CBS), have joined forces to launch the Alliance for Brain Science.
As the first step in this collaboration, the "Athlete Cognitive Neuroscience Program" will begin in 2024. This program will pioneer a new research field that will investigate the relationship between the awareness and performance of skilled athletes from the perspective of cognitive neuroscience, deepening our understanding of the yips and aiming to develop a treatment, while also using the results to support para-athletes and senior athletes, with the aim of applying them to rehabilitation and AI development. With these initiatives as a catalyst, various projects will be developed in the future under a comprehensive collaborative system between Teikyo University, the University of Tokyo, and RIKEN.
