Theme: Poisonous creatures: The cutting edge of life-saving research and medicine - Can poison become medicine? The unknown relationship between medicine and poison -
Senior Assistant Professor: Narumi Shioi Department of Medical Technology

An expert on biological toxins will explain in an easy-to-understand manner how the venom of familiar poisonous snakes and insects is used in medicine and pharmacology, while also introducing the ecology of poisonous snakes and insects that we see all around us. Focusing on the "benefits of venom" in recent drug development, the program will introduce the cutting edge of life-saving medical technology. The content will also be of interest to young people who are aiming to work in medicine or science.
