Measles outbreak at Hachioji Campus

Regarding the occurrence of measles cases

On Friday, May 9, 2025, a student enrolled at our university's Hachioji Campus was found to be infected with measles. After the positive test result was discovered, we immediately worked with the public health center and other relevant organizations to take appropriate measures for the student, identify those who had come into contact with the student, and monitor their health.
As of Monday, May 12, there has been no confirmed spread of infection on campus.

To all students, faculty and staff of our university

Please pay attention to your health for a certain period of time. Measles symptoms include cold-like symptoms, a rash (red dots) all over the body, and fever. If you are feeling unwell, please contact a hospital in advance to inform them that you may have measles and then visit a hospital. If there is a risk of infection spreading, we will report this on our website and Campus Square bulletin board, or contact you individually.
Vaccination is considered to be an effective means of preventing measles.
