The new Teikyo University Library System will begin service in April 2024. In this replacement, we aimed to build a system that can more directly support "learning" and "research" in the digitally shifted education and research environment.
In May 2010, our university integrated its library systems across six libraries on four campuses, including the Faculty of School of Medicine Mizonokuchi Hospital and Chiba General Medical Center Library. In 2021, we added the University Institute of Cultural Properties (Yamanashi) and introduced a service that allows for the integrated search of the collections of each location and the wide variety of academic information on campus, supporting the learning and research of students and faculty. Furthermore, this replacement will see the introduction of the university library solution "iLiswave-J Library Cloud (Fujitsu Japan Ltd.)," aiming to provide user services that respond to the digitalization that has accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a new service, we will start lending * using a smartphone app. This convenient feature allows you to self-rent books by simply logging into the app on your smartphone and reading the book's barcode with your camera. In addition, by implementing ERMS (electronic information resource management system), we will be able to centrally manage everything from the collection and management of electronic resources to publication, and will be able to search both paper and electronic resources at the same time from the Library Search Platform (OPAC). In the future, we will efficiently provide more complete electronic resource information by linking with external systems such as link resolvers and the "electronic resource data sharing service" released by the National Institute of Informatics (NII).
In the future, we will promote academic information DX with high usability for students, faculty and staff, with a view to building joint academic information gateways with other universities.
