On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, students from Teikyo Graduate School Graduate School of Teacher Education conducted an emergency medical training session at the Simulation Education and Research Center on the university's Itabashi Campus.
In this practical training, students learned basic life support under the guidance of Professor Ichiro Kaneko of School of Medicine of our university as part of the class on school life and children's health and illnesses, a common foundational subject (compulsory) for the Graduate School of Teacher Education School of Education. They checked their own techniques using a device that measures the accuracy of chest compressions, and simulated various emergency situations that could occur in educational settings, allowing students and faculty to discuss how to act efficiently as a team. Participating students commented that they "learned more deeply than in the emergency life support training offered in educational settings."
Our university will continue to use Practical learning to develop talented people who can contribute to society.
