Itabashi CampusAssociate Professor Saegusa received the Encouragement Award from the Japanese Society for Mass Spectrometry

At the 72nd Mass Analysis General Symposium held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center, Epochal Tsukuba (Ibaraki Prefecture) from June 10th (Mon) to 12th (Wed), 2024, Daisuke Saegusa, Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Clinical Analytical Science, Faculty of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Sciences, Teikyo University, received the Japan Society for Mass Analysis's MSSJ RESEARCH AWARD.
In his research on the theme of "Development of a method for analyzing trace lysophospholipids using mass spectrometry," Associate Professor Saegusa has targeted in vivo lysophospholipids, which have been difficult to separate and analyze, and has produced many research results over the years through his work on ultra-sensitive quantitative methods using LC-MS/MS * and visualization of tissue distribution using mass spectrometry imaging. This award is given to outstanding research that contributes to the advancement of mass spectrometry and is expected to lead to future developments, and Associate Professor Saegusa's research results to date have been highly evaluated.
During the award ceremony and acceptance speech held on Tuesday, June 11th, Associate Professor Saegusa stated, "Using chromatography and mass spectrometry and paying close attention to separation analysis is extremely important for obtaining highly accurate analytical data in basic or clinical research in drug discovery." Associate Professor Saegusa also received the Journal Award on the same day, we expect him to contribute greatly to improving our university's research capabilities and to student education through his graduation research.
