A student from our university presented a paper atUtsunomiya Campus international conference ACEAIT2024

Teikyo University students Tomomi Takano (, 4th year), Takuma Sawamura (, 4th year), and Fumiyuki Amagi (, 4th year) presented papers at the International Conference on Engineering and Information Technology (ACEAIT2024) held at TKP Elgarra Hall (Hakata, Fukuoka) from July 18 (Thu.) to 20 (Sat.), 2024. Teikyo University students Tomomi Takano (Faculty of Science and Engineering, 4th year), Takuma Sawamura (Faculty of Science and Engineering, 4th year), and Fumiaki Amagi (Faculty of Science and Engineering, 4th year) presented their papers at the international conference "Annual Conference on Engineering and Information Technology (ACEAIT2024)" held at TKP Elgarra Hall in Hakata, Fukuoka.

Takano has been working on the design and construction of robots since September 2023 under Professor Hasuda Yuichi of the Department Department of Information and Electronic Engineering Faculty of Science and Technology, at our Faculty of Science and Engineering. She formed a female team and won the top prize in the University Student Invention and Ingenuity Contest hosted by the Japan Society for Department of Information and Electronic Engineering The presentation was highly praised by researchers both in Japan and abroad, demonstrating the high quality of Japanese female students as engineers. Sawamura gave a presentation on "Detection of Agricultural Pests Using Object Detection Technology," which makes use of the robot and AI technology she learned in the robot club and laboratory. Amagi also gave a presentation titled "Detection of Stink Bug Damaging Farm Crops Using the Image Analysis AI," which is about smart agriculture using AI developed in the Hasuda Laboratory. During the question and answer session, researchers and students from various countries asked about the details of the AI system and future prospects, and there was great interest and expectation.
After successfully completing their presentations, the three researchers were encouraged by the researchers in attendance to continue their research and were invited to attend the international conference ACEAIT 2025 to be held next year.
