On Thursday, July 25, 2024, a seminar by Teikyo University Faculty of Economics Department of Economics Senior Assistant Professor Nagai Lisa visited the Dentsu Digital Shiodome Office (Minato-ku, Tokyo) and gave a presentation on Smart Drinking (Sumadori) *1 to representatives from Asahi Breweries, Ltd., Sumadori Inc., and Dentsu Digital Inc. This was part of the "Shibuya Smart Drinking Project" *2 university collaboration, and was set up as a place for seminar students to present their plans on the theme of "Doing XX with Sumadori" in order to "promote understanding of smart drinking for Generation Z and to make new ways of enjoying alcohol their own and spread it."
On the day, the students presented various ideas for spreading Sumadori, such as film festivals, outdoor festivals, Shibuya camping, special exhibitions, and distribution at hot spring facilities, using creative methods such as LINE conversations and videos. Some groups even deepened friendships with students from other universities at the networking event and worked on projects together. The judges gave each group feedback such as, "They made good use of the networking event. Their initiative, such as the groundwork they did beforehand, was excellent," "It was a presentation that captured the blind spots of business," "Their presentation skills were very high overall," and "They captured the perspective of the SDGs." As a result of the judging, the group that proposed a special exhibition won the grand prize and was granted the right to implement it with a partner company. As a result, the group in question plans to hold a special exhibition to promote understanding of Sumadori within this fiscal year. In addition, other groups that gave excellent presentations will also be invited to speak at SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA2024 (SIW2024), one of Japan's largest urban festivals, which will be held in Shibuya from Friday, October 18th to Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
In addition to the Shibuya Smart Drinking Project, Nagai's seminar is also involved in student-led activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, including TFT (TABLE FOR TWO) *3, and was able to make use of the experience gained from various SDG-related activities in this presentation.
