On Friday, August 30, 2024, the 7th Teikyo University Research Exchange Symposium was held at the Teikyo University Itabashi Campus. This symposium has been held since 2018 as a place for faculty and staff to disseminate information and exchange on the latest research activities across campuses and specialties. This was the 7th time the symposium has been held, and like last year, it was held jointly across all campuses in a hybrid format, with panel discussions on demand and poster sessions on-site. Despite the unfortunate weather, the poster session was attended by 414 people, mainly faculty members of the university, and 296 posters were exhibited, the largest number to date, making it a meaningful opportunity for lively exchange of opinions.
The panel discussion, which was streamed on demand, was moderated by Makoto Asajima, Director of the University's Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization and Special Professor, and Professor panelists Yoshihito Okinaga, Chairman and President, Hanyu Sawako, Special Professor Mitsuishi Mamoru, Dean and Professor School of Medicine Kono Hirotaka, Director and Professor of the Research Institute for Cultural Properties Yamauchi Kazuya, and Associate Professor Hirasawa Takae, Department Department of Biosciences Faculty of Science and Engineering. The panelists looked back on previous research exchange symposiums and discussed issues and goals for promoting future research from a variety of perspectives, under the theme of "Future research at Teikyo University: Improving overall strength and expanding brand power."
It is hoped that through the presentation and exchange of various research results at this symposium, new cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative research projects will be created that transcend the boundaries of fields.
In order to continue fulfilling one of the responsibilities of a university - contributing to society - we will continue to cultivate various knowledge through research at the university and promote initiatives that can give back to society.
