Kasumigaseki CampusTornado2024, a hackathon for students run in cooperation with Okinaga Research Institute was held

"Tornado2024," a hackathon for students, was held from August 20th (Tuesday) to September 21st (Saturday), 2024, with the support of Teikyo University and the cooperation of our university's Okinaga Research Institute. Tornado is a practical online hackathon in which students from all over the country work in teams to create products. The team consists of one product owner, one designer, and three engineers, with each of the five members playing a role, and each team is assigned a mentor from a supporting company.

At the kickoff event held on Tuesday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at our university's Kasumigaseki Campus, each team participated in a two-day ideathon and presented and critiqued their planning proposals based on the theme of the challenge. The theme of the challenge was "solving what we perceive as a problem," and the teams spent about a month developing their products.
At the final presentation held on Saturday, September 21st, the teams were judged on four criteria: planning ability, design ability, engineering ability, and presentation ability. The team that developed the "Engineer Scouting Service that Visualizes the Daily Efforts of Students" won the Grand Prize. The product features a function that records the growth process and visualizes the growth of engineers, and is a hybrid SNS-type service that can be shared with companies. It is clearly differentiated from its target audience and existing services, and was highly praised for the technical aspects that support the visualization function. The judges also gave the product high praise, offering comments for brushing up the product with a view to starting a business.

Our university will continue to contribute to society through various initiatives.
