A research group from Hachioji CampusMedical Mycology Research Center conducted a demonstration test at the U.S. CDC to commercialize the LAMPAuris rapid detection method for Candida auris.

A research group including Mikato Yamamoto, Teaching Associate in the Department of Pediatrics at Teikyo University School of Medicine, Professor Masakazu Mimaki, Assistant Professor Muhammad Mahdi Aleshafni of the University's Center for Medical Mycology Research, Research Assistant Komori Aya, and Professor Koichi Makimura conducted a demonstration test of "LAMPAuris," a method for rapid and accurate detection of the multidrug-resistant fungus Candida auris. * The results were published in Mycopathology, an international medical mycology journal published by Nature Group, on September 23, 2024.

  • * LAMPAuris method: A genetic diagnostic method that uses the LAMP (Loop-mediated isothermal amplification) method to rapidly and sensitively detect only trace amounts of Candida auris DNA at a constant temperature.
