On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Teikyo University students held an exchange of opinions with Omuta City Council members at Omuta City Hall. This initiative was launched in 2021 at the request of the Omuta City Council with the aim of further reflecting the voices of the younger generation in the administration of city government, and this year marks the fourth time it has been held.
This was the first year that the event was held at Omuta City Hall. On the day, 12 representative students selected from each department of Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology and 10 city council members were divided into two groups and exchanged opinions on the theme of "Three promises you would like to fulfill if you were mayor of Omuta." After that, they moved to the assembly hall and the representatives presented the opinions and impressions of each group. In a survey conducted after the exchange of opinions, participants commented, "I was able to think again about the city where my university is located, and I wanted to learn more about Omuta City," and "It was a good opportunity to exchange opinions with city council members who I don't usually have contact with."
Fukuoka Campus will continue to actively engage in Community Engagement.
