Kengo Kohari (Faculty of Science and Engineering, 4th year) presented his research at the international conference APFITA2024 held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center (Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture) from November 6 to 8, 2024.
Mr. Kohari is a member of Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Information and Electronic Engineering and is working on research of smart agriculture using robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) under the supervision of Dr. Yuichi Hasuda at the same department Professor. His research is titled "Development of a Farm Patrol Robot Using RTK Positioning for Detection of The results were presented under the title "Development of a Farm Patrol Robot Using RTK Positioning for Detection of Pests and Diseases". For early detection of stink bugs, which are natural enemies of fruit trees and vegetables and are rapidly increasing due to global warming, we developed an uneven terrain observation robot with highly accurate positioning control, and achieved image detection using artificial intelligence (AI). He received many questions from researchers about his research on pests and diseases that fused robotics/AI and agriculture, as well as various offers from global agricultural equipment manufacturers and the media. We have high expectations for Mr. Kohari's future activities.
