A student from the Faculty of Science and Technology Utsunomiya CampusFaculty of Science and Engineering the Regional Economic Contribution Award at the 21st Student and Corporate Research Presentation Session

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, a student from the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Science and Engineering at Teikyo University won the Regional Economic Contribution Award at the 21st Student & Corporate Research Presentation held at Utsunomiya Kyowa University Utsunomiya City Campus. This presentation, now in its 21st year, was organized by the Tochigi University Consortium Student & Corporate Research Presentation Executive Committee, and aims to promote exchanges between schools in the region and between industry, academia, government, and finance through the presentation of research results by students on research that will lead to regional revitalization and the improvement of human life.

From the University, Mr. Riku Nakabayashi (Faculty of Science and Engineering, 4th year), a member of Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Information and Electronic Engineering Professor Shigeru Sasaki's lab, advanced to the Grand Finals and received the Regional Economic Contribution Award (Tochigi Prefecture Council of Three Organizations of Commerce and Industry) for his presentation on "Development of Educational Shurator that can provide training in electronic construction using MR technology". Ms. Nakabayashi has been a member of Sasaki Professor 's lab since her junior year and has worked hard on her research for a year, leading to this award.

Several other students from our university also participated, including students from Associate Professor Goso Midori's seminar in Department of Regional Economics, Faculty of Faculty of Economics, who gave a presentation entitled "Initiatives by the young generation taking on the challenge of tourism-related industries in Mashiko Town - What kind of environment will encourage the young generation to settle and thrive?" and won the Karasuyama Shinkin Bank Chairman Award, and a second-year student gave a presentation entitled "A new role model for young people working in Nasu Town - Focusing on interviews with young people involved in the tourism industry" and won the Encouragement Award. In addition, students from Associate Professor Song Woo's seminar in the Department Department of Regional Economics Faculty of Economics gave a presentation entitled "A study on the issue of early retirement of young people - Aiming to establish a sense of attachment through employment support policies in Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration" and won the Tochigi Shinkin Bank Chairman Award.
