Associate Professor Uno's research group has elucidated a new inter-organ network mechanism for liver zonation

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, a research group led by Kenji Uno, Associate Professor of the Department of School of Medicine Internal Medicine Studies, Teikyo University, collaborated with Hideki Katagiri of the Department of Diabetes Metabolism and Endocrinology, Internal Medicine of the Department of Diabetes Metabolism and Endocrinology, Graduate School of Medicine, Professor Graduate School Tohoku University, and Hiroaki Honda, Professor of the Institute of Experimental Animals, Tokyo Women's Medical University. Using an animal model (genetically modified mouse model), we clarified the existence and mechanism of a new inter-organ network mechanism that regulates systemic glucose metabolism and body composition originating in the liver.
The results of this research were published in PLOS Biology, an international online scientific journal, on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2 p.m. ET.
