The Sankei Seminar participated in the 6th Chue Marche in collaboration with Hiroshima Shudo University and others.

On Sunday, December 22, 2024, the seminar of Associate Professor Mikata Kohei of the Department of Faculty of Economics Department of Business Administration of Economics, Teikyo University participated in the 6th Chue Marche, held in Nakae-cho, Miyajima-cho, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Nakae-cho is located on Miyajima, where Itsukushima Shrine is located, and has a historic and traditional streetscape that has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Chue Marche is an event planned and run by local residents and students who want to liven up Nakae-cho, and is organized by the Nakae-cho Revitalization Council and held at Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya.

Starting in 2022, the Sanbata seminar has been working to collaborate with students participating in the "Miyajima Tourism Revitalization Project - Creating a New Miyajima with Nakae Town" *, an adopted project of Hiroshima Shudo University's "Community Connecting Project," to revitalize Miyajima and Nakae Town, and this year has been coordinating and preparing to hold a joint market.
As this Marche was held in the latter half of December when the weather gets colder, the students produced and sold warm udon noodles and skewers using gansu, a Hiroshima specialty dish, as well as planning a scenery rally around the photo spots of Nakae Town and a kendama experience session, which originated in Hatsukaichi City, and worked hard to create an event where the history and charm of Hiroshima and Miyajima could be experienced with all five senses. The event poster was designed by Daichi Taguchi (3rd year, Faculty of Faculty of Economics), a member of the seminar of Junichi Owaki, Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Economics at our Faculty of Economics. On the day of the Marche, the udon noodles and skewers that were prepared were sold out, and the students were able to have many smiling exchanges with tourists from Japan and abroad, as well as local people.

Mr. Shiba Michirui (3rd year, Faculty Faculty of Economics), project leader of the Sankei Seminar, who implemented this project, commented, "We were able to make this a success thanks to the cooperation of many people, including my fellow seminar students and people from Hiroshima Shudo University. Throughout the year from planning the Marche to running it on the day, I learned the difficulty of moving forward with a project and the importance of working together with my colleagues to see it through." Mr. Junya Terazawa of Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya, who is in charge of organizing the Chue Marche, said, "Thank you for creating a warm day. We look forward to seeing you again next year," creating an opportunity to connect our thoughts to next year. Our university will continue to strengthen social collaboration and Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration, contribute to regional revitalization by connecting our university's "knowledge" to society, and disseminate the results of our education and research to society to solve the many social issues that are piling up.
