Hachioji CampusTazaki Seminar held an interactive concert at a kindergarten in Kawasaki City

On Monday, December 16, 2024, 18 students from the seminar of Professor Noriko Tazaki Faculty of Education Department of Elementary Education, Teikyo University visited a kindergarten in Kawasaki City and held an interactive concert for 5-year-old children.

The participatory concert is a concert that consists of an appreciation program where participants listen to songs and musical instrument performances, and a participation program where participants move their bodies and play instruments to the music. The students had planned the program for this day for a year, practicing hard and coming up with a performance that would please the children. On the day, the children quickly opened up to the students they were meeting for the first time, and enjoyed the music with lively expressions on their faces as they sang together, danced, and made sounds on instruments.

This initiative has been ongoing for several years, and as a similar program has been implemented at elementary schools, it is expected to contribute to solving the issues of cooperation and connectivity between preschools, daycare centers, and elementary schools. Teikyo University will continue to provide an even more fulfilling learning environment.
