March 10, 2025
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the SYMPO in Japan 2025 marathon was held in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Teikyo University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club coach Takayuki Nakano took to the stage at a special commemorative talk show.
This project is a symposium to discuss the significance of hosting marathons from the perspective of government ministries, manufacturers, and event organizers, including sharing the management methods and event announcements for marathons held all over the country, and case studies of marathons held as tourism resources and regional development. The final program was a special commemorative talk show, in which four coaches from our university, Josai University, Toyo University, and Rikkyo University, took to the stage to look back on the Hakone Ekiden, in which their universities competed fiercely. The event was full of excitement, with each coach sharing their ideas for the race on the day and the actual results, their coaching theories for the athletes, their future team prospects, and notable athletes for the 2025 season. Our university's Ekiden (Road Relay) Club will continue to work to promote and develop track and field, a lifelong sport.
