On Saturday, May 3, 2025 (national holiday), the Teikyo University Calligraphy Club presented a calligraphy performance at Keio Momogusaen Garden (Hino City, Tokyo). Keio Momogusaen Garden is a historic Japanese garden dating back to the Edo period, and is a famous spot representing Hino City, attracting many visitors throughout the year. This time, the event was held as a joint industry-academia project with Keio Momogusaen Garden, and was promoted in collaboration with the Hino City Tourism Association.
The day was blessed with fine weather, and many visitors to Keio Momogusaen came to see the performance, and when it was announced that the calligraphy performance would be held at the Osaka Kansai Expo on Sunday, May 11th of the same year, the visitors erupted in cheers of surprise and applause of encouragement. An exhibition of the works was held at Shoren-an from Saturday, April 26th to Tuesday, May 6th (national holiday), and the collaboration between the nature of Keio Momogusaen and the calligraphy works provided a new cultural experience.
The Calligraphy Club aims to create cultural value and contribute to the local community, and will continue to carry out a wide variety of cultural activities.
