The 4th Global Challenge Seminar "Let's talk about South Korea" was held

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the 4th Global Challenge Seminar "~Now, Let's Talk about South Korea" was held online for students, faculty and staff from all of the University's campuses.
The seminar was designed to enable students, faculty and staff from the four campuses to learn about a single international theme across departments and disciplines, and through subsequent discussions, to experience the Teikyo Global Competency and the concept of "making globalization an everyday reality" that the university upholds.
On the day, there were lectures from Hachioji Campus Faculty of Languages and Cultures Department of Foreign Languages Professor Tomohiro Hara on "The Birth of 'Shin-Okubo'" and from Hachioji Campus Faculty of Economics Department of Tourism Management Professor Kim Jin-ban on "Comparison of Tourism Attitudes and Behaviors of (Young People) in Japan and Korea". After the lecture, group discussions were held to discuss multiculturalism, changing impressions of Shin-Okubo, and Japan's departure rate, with each group presenting the content of their discussions.
A total of 45 participants from several campuses took part in this seminar, and despite the limited time, there was a lively exchange of opinions among the participants, transcending the boundaries of students and faculty. In addition to this seminar, Itabashi Campus student cafeteria Godereccio will be selling South Korea dishes for a limited time from Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11, as "World Cuisine -South Korea Edition".

Global Initiative Office will continue to provide opportunities to learn about and interact with international topics across campus.
