Senior Assistant Professor Dan conducted a hands-on bone dissection class, "A detailed dissection of a bird's wing bones! - Learning through chicken wings! Making a bird skeleton specimen" atFukuoka Campus

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, as part of the special exhibition "Bone Wonderland - Exploring the Mysteries of Bones" being held at the Teikyo University Museum, Junji Dan, Senior Assistant Professor Department of Physical Therapy Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, Teikyo University, held a hands-on bones class entitled "A thorough dissection of the bones of a chicken wing! - Learning through chicken wings! Making a bird skeletal specimen." This class involved learning about the structure and function of bones by assembling the bones of a chicken wing.
Approximately 30 people, ranging from elementary school students to adults, participated on the day, and the event was a lively one, with parents and children working together to assemble the bones and smiling in front of the completed skeletons. Participants expressed surprise and discovery at this unique experience, which allowed them to learn about the structure of bones while having fun. Comparing the skeletons of birds and humans deepened their interest in the structure of the body, which they don't usually think about, and it was a time full of discovery and learning.

Senior Assistant Professor Dan applies his knowledge and techniques from physical therapy, such as the human skeleton and how to use the body, to support not only people but also animals, for example by creating supports for the sheep at Omuta City Zoo.
Fukuoka Campus will continue to actively contribute to the local community by utilizing its specialized knowledge.
