On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Teikyo ALUMNI Teaching Association and Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association jointly held the 2025 Teikyo University Teaching ALUMNI FORUM "The Future of Teaching and Childcare Profession - Teikyo ALUMNI x Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association-" at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus.
This forum has been held jointly since last year with the aim of further deepening connections between students and faculty members who have graduated from the University and are working in teaching, administration, or educational administration. This year, in addition to those working in teaching and education-related fields, those involved in childcare also participated.
The event began with a speech from Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association Chairman University President Yoshihito Okinaga, who said, "Recently, many occupations have changed due to the advancement of AI, but while the educational field remains liberal, the essential value of 'people educating people' remains unchanged. This event, which brings together educators who have graduated from our university and current students, is a meaningful forum for exchange about the future of education, and I hope it will lead to the development of the education world as a whole and further enhancement of our university's training for teaching and childcare workers."
The event was divided into two parts based on the theme of "Passing on the appeal of teachers to the next generation." In the first part, school administrators, mid-career teachers, and nursery school principals reported on specific activities and practices in the field of education, followed by a question-and-answer session.
In the second part of the event, participants split into several groups to discuss the appeal of working in education and childcare. There were also occasions when current teachers offered advice to students about the anxieties and worries they may have as they enter the teaching and childcare professions.
Throughout the first and second parts of the event, participants commented that it was a valuable opportunity for current students, alumni, and university staff to learn from each other across boundaries, and students also commented that it gave them the opportunity to think about how they want to feel about their university life in the future.
The event was a meaningful opportunity for alumni and current students to interact across generations, learning and gaining new insights, while also deepening connections between participants.
