On Wednesday, August 27th, Wednesday, September 17th, and Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, Teikyo Technology Transfer Center hosted a business emergence workshop as part of its support for startup creation at multiple campuses of Teikyo University and online, with Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., Ltd. as Senior Assistant Professor.
The workshop was attended by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from Graduate School, who participated in lectures and group work related to new business creation. In the group work, participants used a cross-trial (combination card method) method, in which participants write down keywords from a predetermined theme and randomly combine them to generate new business ideas, and the AsIs-Tobe framework, in which participants write down their current situation (AsIs) and ideal situation (Tobe), and then consider and analyze the issues and methods needed to move closer to their ideal situation. Each participant then summarized their thoughts and presented their ideas. Participants experienced the process of generating various ideas while sorting through everyday problems and social issues, and by reconsidering the social needs behind these ideas, they deepened their considerations toward commercialization.
On each day, participants included those interested in starting their own businesses, those considering starting new businesses in their workplaces, and those interested in solving specific social issues. The exchange of diverse perspectives led to the creation of diverse ideas, making for a meaningful forum that expanded the possibilities for creating new businesses.
Teikyo Technology Transfer Center will continue to provide consistent support, from the discovery and selection of seeds to their social implementation, in order to make our university a hub for creating startups with practical and innovative technologies.
