Teikyo's Ekiden Club Secures 9th Place Finish and Seeding Rights at 100th Tokyo-Hakone Relay

At the Hakone Ekiden (102nd Tokyo-Hakone Round-Trip College Ekiden Race) held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, the Teikyo University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club finished in 9th place overall, earning them a seed to compete in the next tournament.

Although the team started the return leg in 17th place, they continued to run well, finishing in 4th to 6th place in all five sections of the return leg. At the end of the first leg, the gap between them and 10th place, which was within the seeded zone, was 4 minutes and 15 seconds, but each athlete persevered and pushed themselves up the ranks, achieving a remarkable comeback. Furthermore, gaining seeded status from 17th place in the first leg was a first in the history of the Hakone Ekiden, and this result embodies the University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club of being "the team that never gives up in the world."
