In addition to 121 living rooms fully equipped with furniture and Wi-Fi necessary for daily life, we also have ample public space such as a lounge and kitchen. In addition, by living together with Japanese students (resident assistants) who provide support for international students in their dormitory life, they can deepen their communication skills and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds through cross-cultural exchange and various activities. In April 2017, Teikyo University's first international student dormitory opened on the Hachioji Campus.
There are 76 dorm rooms in the dormitory with two types of accommodation available: units consisting of two joined rooms and completely independent single rooms. Students have complete privacy in their own rooms and share the lounge and kitchen. With these living arrangements in place, it is anticipated that students living in the dormitory will hone their communication skills and their ability to solve problems requiring cooperation, a skill which is required when it comes to working together with people from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds.

This international student dormitory is clean and well equipped. I am very satisfied with the comfortable spaces provided. I usually cook my own meals. The shared kitchen, located in the lounge, is spacious, easy to use, and is equipped with kitchen utensils and other items, making it very convenient. Sometimes, students living in the dormitory have parties where they cook food from their own countries. Living with people from a variety of different national backgrounds also provides great opportunities to learn about different cultures, which makes every day exciting.
An RA (Resident Assistant) is a dormitory student who provides support for the daily lives of international students while living in the dormitory so that international students can be at ease and lead comfortable dormitory lives. Students living in the dorm as RAs are anticipated to grow as students armed with global perspectives and diverse value sets. The university recruits students from the Hachioji Campus to become RAs.
