The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences responds to the expectations of society and the medical field from the perspective of medical advancement along with the advancement of science, regional medical cooperation in an aging society with a declining birthrate, and maintenance and promotion of the health of the people, and meets the needs of local residents and individual patients. We aim to train pharmacists who can handle it. A degree will be awarded to those who have acquired the abilities set forth in the following acquisition goals as learning outcomes (outcomes) at the time of graduation and have completed the prescribed credits.

1. As a medical professional, students have a warm humanity and high ethical standards, act in good faith in consideration of the dignity and human rights of others, strive for self-improvement, and can act based on professionalism.
2. With communication skills, students can build relationships of trust with patients, their families, and members of the medical team, collaborate with them , and participate in Team Medical Care from a patient-centered perspective.
3. Considering the physical and chemical properties of pharmaceutical products, it is possible to properly prepare and handle pharmaceutical products required for medical treatment.
4. Understanding the effects of medicines on the living body based on scientific grounds, and be able to carry out appropriate and effective drug treatment.
5. Utilizing resources of local health, medical, and welfare, students can support the maintenance and promotion of the health of local residents through regional medical cooperation.
6. Understanding the significance of research in the fields of basic, clinical and social pharmacy, students can think scientifically and logically about problems in medicine, and show an attitude to promote problem-solution from a pharmaceutical perspective.

In order to acquire the abilities required by the diploma policy, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences organizes the curriculum according to the following policy based on the concept of learning outcome-based education.

1. Based on the "Pharmacy Education Model Core Curriculum", we aim to acquire the six outcomes set forth in the Diploma Policy.
2. Goal 1-A (Ethics and Professionalism) is widely covered in various disciplines and cultivated throughout all grades. Conducting as much as possible with a learning method that includes practical training and discussion, students are evaluated by using an evaluation method that is suitable for the required skills and attitudes.
3. Goal 1-B (participation in patient-centered medical care through Team Medical Care) aims to build a relationship of trust based on rich humanity and enhance communication skills, and is particularly important as a feature of this faculty. Establishing a spiral-type humanity communication education curriculum that progresses as the grade progresses, the faculty conducts cross-disciplinary multidisciplinary education (IPE) jointly with the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Medical Technology and carry out performance evaluation with rubrics.
4. In special education of pharmacy, Goal1-C (proper preparation and handling of pharmaceutical products), Goal1-D (practice of drug treatment), and Goal1-E (maintenance of national health and contribution to community medicine), we build a sequential spiral curriculum as the grade progresses, and effectively develop the ability as a pharmacist based on scientific evidence. From the admission to the first half of the 4th grade, students acquire a wide range of pharmaceutical expertise through lectures, etc., and cultivate the ability to utilize knowledge and problem-solving skills through practical training and exercises. The acquired knowledge is evaluated by objective tests and essay tests, and the learning results of practical training and exercises are evaluated by a method suitable for skills and attitudes. From the second half of the 4th grade onward, we provide a more practical learning environment centered on integrated exercises and practical training, and evaluate knowledge and performance.
5. Goal 1-F (Scientific Inquiry) is cultivated mainly through the bachelor thesis training (graduation research) in the 4th to 6th grade, based on the basic pharmacy training in the 1st to 3rd grade. In addition to deeper scientific and logical thinking ability, problem-finding and problem-solving ability, we cultivate an active learning attitude and self-improvement ability, and evaluate knowledge and performance.
6. Regarding the comprehensive learning outcomes required at the time of graduation, knowledge is evaluated by objective examinations and essay examinations, practical ability as a pharmacist is evaluated by portfolios, etc., and graduation research is evaluated by performance evaluation using rubrics.

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has practical practical ability based on solid knowledge and skills, problem-finding and problem-solving ability based on insight and inquisitive mind, and we aim to　train pharmacists who play an active role as professional in multidisciplinary collaboration and who are widely trusted in society.
We are looking for new students who are physically and mentally healthy, can adapt to 6 years of pharmacy education including practical training, and have the following qualities through a wide range of studies in high schools.

1. Students who have a high aspiration and a strong desire to contribute to the health and welfare of people.
2. Students who have the basic academic ability and logical thinking ability necessary to acquire knowledge about pharmacy.
3. Students who have an inquisitive mind to acquire the latest knowledge and skills, and an inquisitive mind to find problems and solve problems.
4. Students who are collaborative and have proper language and communication skills.
