On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, the Teikyo University Teikyo Technology Transfer Center held the fourth Teikyo University Venture Title Award Ceremony at the Teikyo University Itabashi Campus, presenting the fourth title to Holoeyes Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Holoeyes), a venture company originating from the university. The university bestows this corporate title on university-originated venture companies that are established using the university's intellectual property, research results, or human resources.
Professor Sugimoto, who received this award, is a graduate of our university's School of Medicine. After graduation, he worked as Surgery Surgery Teikyo University Hospital, Teikyo University Chiba Medical Center, and studied in the United States, before becoming Director of the Innovation Lab at our university's Okinaga Research Institute. Leveraging his research and experience to date, Professor Sugimoto founded Holoeyes in 2016 and currently serves as Representative Director and CEO. Holoeyes is one of the most successful ventures originating from our university, and its medical support business, which uses cutting-edge technologies such as proprietary image analysis and virtual reality, is already being used as programmable medical equipment in clinical and educational settings across the country.
The ceremony was facilitated by the University's Teikyo Technology Transfer Center Director, Professor Hotaka Nakanishi, and the University's Chairman ? President Yoshihito Okinaga presented the title certificate to Maki Sugimoto, CEO of Holoeyes, Okinaga Research Institute Professor. Okinaga Chairman President stated, "It is very wonderful that we have been able to run ourselves so far.
Holoeyes continues to grow and is committed to expanding its business and collaborating with other countries. We look forward to their continued contribution to the development of medical technology using VR technology and the expansion of their overseas collaborations.
