Kasumigaseki CampusAssistant Professor Takuya Sueyoshi and Professor Masaki Sugimoto received the Travel Award at The Liver Week 2025

At The Liver Week 2025 (South Korea Society for the Study of Liver) held in Gyeongju, South Korea from Thursday, May 29th to Saturday, May 31st, 2025, Assistant Professor Sueyoshi Takumi and Professor Sugimoto Maki of the Innovation Lab Okinaga Research Institute of Teikyo University University, won the Travel Award for their presentation titled "Innovative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Based Spatial Computing AR Navigation for Open, Lap, and Robotic Hepatectomy."

The Liver Week has been held annually since 2014 and is a conference jointly organized by four liver-related societies: South Korea Society of Hepato-Surgery, the South Korea Liver Cancer Association, the South Korea Liver Transplantation Society, and South Korea Liver Study Group.
During the congress, renowned hepatology experts, clinicians, researchers and industry leaders from around the world came together to exchange knowledge on the latest research findings and clinical advances. The conference offered outstanding keynote speeches, engaging workshops, pioneering research presentations and robust networking opportunities. This year's conference featured an enhanced academic program that particularly highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between Internal Medicine and Surgery experts, which provides a more comprehensive approach to the management of liver diseases.
The award-winning presentation was about "Spatial Computing AR Navigation Based on Innovative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Open, Laparoscopic, and Robot-Assisted Hepatectomy," and was awarded in recognition of the research results of the institute and Holoeyes Inc. Assistant Professor Sueyoshi said, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in this research. I intend to further improve the quality of research and education activities at Okinaga Research Institute of Teikyo University and to further develop excellent human resources." We look forward to seeing Assistant Professor Sueyoshi and Professor Sugimoto's future success.
