Class Introduction

Logic and Mathematics
This is one of the subjects that are taught through media classes or school classes (face-to-face classes at designated venues). The goal is to acquire the basics of sets and logic, which are the foundations of information science, and to improve logical thinking skills to deal with various problems in information science. To help understand abstract concepts, concrete examples are given as much as possible and learning is conducted through exercises. It consists of sets, mappings, relations, propositional logic and predicate logic. School classes also provide an opportunity to improve learning by attending classes directly, such as by writing answers on the board during class and presenting answers.

Engineering Ethics
This is a media course where students learn using e-learning (LMS) on the Internet from their home computers. "Why should engineers be accountable?" "Why does human error occur?" "In what circumstances should you blow the whistle?" and other ethical issues that engineers with specialized knowledge should consider are examined with reference to concrete examples.

Information theory
This is a self-study course based on the designated textbook. After learning about probability theory, students will study the concepts of communication channels, information sources, and information quantity. Based on these concepts, students will learn topics in coding theory such as channel coding and source coding, as well as topics related to cryptography and the basics of information security.
