Obtaining the judo therapist National Examination Qualification
A judo therapist uses traditional judo techniques to treat fractures, dislocations, sprains, bruises, and contusions (muscle and tendon injuries) without surgery. This department belongs to a department where students learn various medical techniques such as vision correction, nursing, medical radiation, clinical examination, and about department of Sport and Medical Science. National examination measures In the 4th grade, classes are divided according to proficiency level, and full-scale national examination preparation begins. First of all, students intensively supplement their weak points. After that, they utilize e-learning and mock tests to improve our application skills. In addition, the Judo rehabilitation special lecture, which is set up in the 4th grade, is a class that summarizes the basic subjects and practical skills learned from the 1st year to 3rd grade for the national examination. At the same time, by taking advantage of after-school hours and non-class hours, students repeatedly learn practical skills, and while reconfirming, they surely acquire the skills and aim to pass the national examination.

During or after graduation, students can take the "Athletic Trainer" certification exam run by the Japan Sport Association (a public interest incorporated foundation). This is a specialized qualification for sports instructors who provide emergency response when athletes are injured on the field, plan menus to help athletes recover from injuries, provide training to prevent injuries, and educate athletes. In addition, the athletic trainer qualification, which combines sports medical science knowledge and skills, is very useful not only for sports fields but also for opening an osteopathic clinic.
Collaboration with local sports teams By experiencing the actual site, you can get a clearer picture of your future goals. In our Department of Judo Therapy, students can obtain teaching licenses for health and physical education at junior and senior high schools. Martial arts (Judo, Kendo, and Sumo) have become compulsory subjects in health and physical education at junior high schools, and physical education teachers who are familiar with the knowledge and techniques of Judo Therapy can quickly respond to student injury prevention and first aid in class, so learning in this department is very important. The number of subjects that must be taken is increasing, and there is also a teaching practice in 4th year, but students are studying hard with the aim of obtaining a teaching license.

Advancing Graduate School school can be widely used for treatment by studying what you have learned as a specialized technique from an academic point of view and conducting scientific verification. The role of the Graduate School is important in order to lead from "art" to "academic". Teikyo University Graduate School of Medical Care and Technology has a Division of Judo Therapy course (master's course). In this graduate school, we not only establish academics, but also train judo therapist with advanced specialized knowledge and medical examination ability.
