During my university days, I was interested in and active in a wide range of things, including the information and electronic engineering I studied at university, but I also loved movies and music, so I made short movies and worked part-time at a second-hand clothing store, and I thoroughly enjoyed each of them.

I think I like to decide for myself how to approach something that interests me and then put it into practice. It was the same with my graduation research, and after being assigned to a research lab in 3rd year, I focused on "things that are not very systematized, with the aim of making people's lives more convenient." Ultimately, I worked on developing a system that can recognize "finger spelling," a sign language used by people with hearing impairments, and convey its meaning to people who do not know finger spelling, and I believe that this series of experiences formed the foundation for my future.

In the end, I ended up working at TKC, where I could put what I learned at university to good use, but when I first started looking for a job, I wasn't limited to systems companies, and I was looking at multiple fields that I was interested in, such as video production companies. However, as I continued my job search, I became clearer about what I really wanted to do, how I wanted to work, and how I wanted to contribute to society, and so naturally the number of companies I was looking for narrowed down.

After joining TKC, I underwent seven months of new employee training, after which I was involved in a project to develop a system that digitizes corporate trademarks and stores and manages them via cloud services. In 2021, I was appointed project leader for this system development, and I now feel an even greater sense of responsibility when working on the project. Previously, I was in a position where I only had to focus on fulfilling my own responsibilities, but now I consider the growth of my subordinates and place more emphasis on how to improve overall results. I hope to continue contributing to our corporate clients and, beyond that, to society through system development.

SPECIAL TALK

I decided to join the company because I was attracted to being involved in a wide range of business because I was developing a system that would be the driving force of the company through accounting and I was consistently doing everything from design to development in-house. Another feature is that individuals have a great deal of discretion, and in many cases, proactive proposals are actually adopted, which makes work more rewarding.

Our duties are customered by specialists who are familiar with tax, accounting and law. However, instead of hiring only students who are familiar with those academic fields and techniques, we emphasize the "diversity" of human resources. In fact, we also hire many students from the Faculty of Arts. The reason why such "diversity" can be realized is that we have properly prepared a training system and learning environment where you can learn specialized knowledge from scratch after joining the company.

Mr. Otsuka, who develops systems even in private, often reads related books.

Originally I was interested in various industries, but I think that by outputting my opinions through job hunting, the indicators for my future career became clearer. The best opportunity for output is an interview. I was always conscious of clearly communicating what I wanted to do during the interview.

Rather than sifting through the interview, the company has the opportunity to interview the students, so please tell us a lot of stories about what you have devoted yourself to and what you have achieved. I'm out. It also leads to the discussion of "diversity" of human resources, but in order to find out the good points of various students, we try to involve as many employees as possible in the interview.

I think it was the most fun to become clearer and clearer about what I wanted to be. By participating in company research and briefing sessions, you will have more options, but every time you talk about "how you want to work" or "how you want to contribute to society," you will be among the options. From then on, my way of being is solidified. That was a lot of fun.

I think that you can only look inside various companies during the job hunting period for new graduates, even in a long life. TKC holds a 1-day internship, but it is more important to experience some of the social contribution activities that we are working on rather than explaining the company. This is an opportunity to experience programs in many industries, not just our company, so I hope you will work positively.
