We are conducting research on the control of infectious diseases mainly in Asia.
Teikyo University Asia International Infectious Disease Control aims to control infectious diseases in the Asian region by promoting research on respiratory infections, mainly respiratory infections, elucidation of their testing methods, elucidation of the pathogenic mechanism, and development of treatment methods.
1. Research on infectious diseases
Analysis of mutations in the new coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2)
Analysis of pathogenic microorganisms such as influenza virus and Acinetobacter
Infectious diseases in Asia: Elucidation of the pathogenic mechanism and development of treatment methods for respiratory infections caused by influenza (AH5N1) virus, etc.
2. Research on infectious disease control factors
Functional analysis of neutrophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells
Analysis of inflammatory factors such as antiviral cytokines and inflammatory cytokines
Analysis of heme-type peroxidase (Myeroperoxidase and Lactoperoxidase) functions
Analysis of inflammation induction mechanism by enzymatic reaction products of heme-type peroxidase (hypochlorous acid and hypothiocyanate)
3. Research on infectious disease-induced inflammatory diseases
The development of intractable inflammatory diseases such as vasculitis can also be triggered by infections. At this institute, we are conducting research by analyzing the relationship between infectious diseases and the onset of vasculitis, focusing on the types of inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory cells that cause inflammation.
4. Studies related to "severe pneumonia" caused by viral infections
The transmission of respiratory tract infections caused by influenza virus and the like is a global threat, and we are conducting research on the selection of candidates for therapeutic agents for severe influenza pneumonia. Among them, we are also researching and reporting on the antiviral activity of existing macrolide antibiotics such as leucomycin A3 (josamycin) and azithromycin.
5. International joint research and international exchange
International joint research
Inviting foreign research students We aim to further develop international collaborative research by accepting international students from the Asian region as Graduate School and promoting research.
Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) Through the e-ASIA JRP program, we are participating in a joint international research project based on international cooperation among the three countries of Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
International Exchange
[Through the Sakura Science Plan (SSP) of the Japan Science Agency, we will invite doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from Asian countries for short-term study abroad programs to exchange technical opinions and promote international exchange. We also provide practical training in public health, infectious disease control, and infectious disease treatment at medical facilities in Asia for Graduate School and graduate students and medical residents affiliated with Teikyo University.
研究論文
Has published many research papers
This institute publishes research results in various forms in English and Japanese, and contributes to the further progress of research.
Asia International Institute of Infectious Diseases Control, Teikyo University has achieved numerous accomplishments in the field of infectious disease research in the Asian region. Since 2014, the Institute has been promoting respiratory infectious diseases, aiming to improve research and technology at participating facilities in Vietnam (partially in Laos) and the Philippines. Currently, the Institute accepts students from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Graduate School of Medicine) to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved in influenza exacerbation. The Asia International Institute of Infectious Diseases Control, Teikyo University also promotes international exchange with researchers from the Institute of Tuberculosis, Kitasato Institute, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, and the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo. The Institute also promotes the Teikyo University ADC Laboratory Sakura Science Project (TASP) as a form of international exchange with Asian countries.
Teikyo University ADC Lab Sakura Science Project (TASP)
1. Invitation plan: Implementation of joint research on infectious disease control in collaboration with the Japan Science Promotion Organization Sakura Science Plan (SSP).
Positioned as joint research aimed at improving research and technology at participating facilities in Vietnam and the Philippines, the following three items of training will be provided.
Biosafety
Latest technology for virus / bacteria detection
Public health and epidemiology
The aim is to improve the research and technology of participating facilities from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Laos, and to promote joint research.Research support: Senior Assistant Professor and technical guidance will be provided by top-class researchers, doctors, and technical staff from Asia International Institute of Infectious Diseases Control, Teikyo University, as well as the Tuberculosis Research Institute, Kitasato Institute, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, and the Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo.
We accepted 7 trainees from 3 countries, Vietnam, Philippines and Laos, and implemented the training program.
From November 16 to December 4, 2015, the Sakura Science Plan, a project adopted by JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency), was implemented and ADC accepted seven trainees from three countries, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Laos. The seven trainees, who are active as researchers in their home countries, came to ADC to attend lectures on medical safety at Teikyo University Hospital Safety Control Department under the themes of "infectious diseases" and "safety management." They also attended rounds, visited the Central Laboratory and the Pharmacy Department, toured ADC's research facilities, experienced practical training in the latest virus and bacteria detection technology, participated in classes, and deepened exchanges with ADC faculty and students. The participants also had hands-on experience with the latest virus and bacteria detection technology and participated in classes. They also visited the Institute of Tuberculosis (Kiyose City, Tokyo), which is collaborating with the ADC.
2. Dispatch plan: Dispatch of Teikyo University students, Graduate School, and faculty members to Asian countries for research and study on infectious disease control.
