Documents to be submitted No special requirements. However, there may be cases in which you will be asked to submit the required documents by your division, in which case we will contact you separately.
About long-term courses
In order to support working adults, long-term enrolment is a way for completing a course of study over a predetermined amount of time longer than the typical term of study.
Length of study (years of enrollment in parentheses) Master's degree programs: 3 years (4 years) Doctoral course: 4 years (6 years)
Tuition The annual tuition fee is calculated by dividing the total standard term of study by the permitted term of long-term study. Separately, insurance fee for several years is required.
Change of Application Period and Enrollment Period
Those who wish to enroll in long-term courses must apply at the time of application. Application after enrollment is not acceptable. Please note that you may only change your long-term study period once, and the period may be shortened by one year.
How to apply Please fill out the "Application for Long-term Enrollment" form. In the "Reason for Application" column, please indicate the specific reason(s) why you wish to take a long-term course of study. In addition, please obtain the opinion and seal of approval from your prospective academic advisor after thorough consultation during the " Prior Consultation with Prospective Academic Advisor". The "Application for Long-term Study" must be submitted at the time of application.

Please access the "Guidance for Payment of Application Fee" site and enter the prescribed information required for payment. ■ When mailing (must arrive by the deadline) Print out the "address sheet" at the end of the entrance examination guidelines in A4 size, fill in the necessary information, attach it to the envelope (Kaku 2) prepared by each person, enclose the set of application documents, and be sure to send it by "registered mail" from the post office. Please send by mail. Please keep the "receipt of registered mail/delivery record mail" issued by the post office in a safe place. Applications must arrive by the deadline. Deadline postmark is not valid.
■ When bringing to the counter Print out the "address sheet" at the end of the entrance examination guidelines in A4 size, fill in the necessary information, attach it to the envelope (Kaku 2) prepared by each person, put the set of application documents in the envelope, and send it to the campus where you apply. If the application documents are incomplete, we will not accept them.
Submitted application materials and the application fee will not be returned.
Once the application has been submitted, no changes to the documents will be allowed under any circumstances.
Even after the admission procedures have been completed, the university reserves the right to cancel the admission if the submitted documents are found to be inaccurate.
Special Considerations for Taking Exams and Studying If you need special consideration for taking the entrance examination or studying due to a physical disability, disease, or illness, please notify the relevant department before submitting your application (at least two weeks before the application deadline). You will be asked to apply after the decision has been made by the university. Please note that we may not be able to meet your request. Selection of applicants will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of the written examination (in the field of specialization and foreign language [English]), oral examination, and research plan.
