Autonomous driving not only frees the driver from driving operations, but also creates mobility as a new means of transportation. Furthermore, we are trying to create a variety of transportation systems that combine conventional means of transportation to provide us with a new life.
With such a situation in mind, our laboratory will develop autonomous driving technology for consumers in the area. For example, there are concerns that the spread of autonomous driving mobility will reduce the chances of walking on one's own legs, but we believe that autonomous driving technology can increase walking opportunities and support walking exercise. Therefore, we will research and develop autonomous driving mobility that has various functions, not just riding.

Research on autonomous driving mobility for regional mobility
We will develop new autonomous driving mobility that suits the traffic environment peculiar to the region and meets the needs of local residents. For example, we will research and develop autonomous driving mobility that supports walking exercise so that elderly people can walk on their own feet in a healthy manner.
Research on walking support
We are conducting research to elucidate the walking support mechanism that clarifies why walking becomes easier when autonomous driving mobility supports walking movement from a mechanical and physiological point of view.
